Fire Station
ARCHIPELLAGO STATION
An archipelago of spaces floating above water in a loop of circulation to experience the exposed fire station. Fire stations are ordinarily designed as a very monolithic, solid architecture. But in the
archipelago station, it is defying how the everyday fire station is designed and actually taking it and
exploding it into different islands of program spaces. This way, it is also bringing in a very important feature of the site- the water. By having this loop of circulation surrounded completely by water, people will really feel as if they are a part of the site and can truly take in their immediate environment.
Another thing that the separation of the spaces does, is expose the fire activity going on around the clock, while keeping the public out of the way of the working staff . The common spaces and private quarters are raised in the center of the loop of public circulation, and branch out from both sides into the fire truck and fire boat bays. Therefore private and public are separated, yet exposed
to one another bringing the fire station to life for all.
